Tyramine Base
Industrial Applications
Tyramine Base is an aromatic biogenic amine widely used as a chemical intermediate in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, dyes, and specialty chemicals. Owing to the presence of both phenolic and amine functional groups, Tyramine is particularly valuable in the preparation of bioactive compounds, antioxidants, and functional additives. It is also utilized in medicinal and synthetic chemistry as a building block for structurally complex molecules, as well as in research and development for studies involving phenethylamine derivatives and phenolic reactivity.
Physical Properties
Tyramine Base is an aromatic monoamine consisting of a phenethylamine backbone with a para-hydroxy substituent. It typically appears as a white to off-white crystalline solid, is sparingly soluble in water but more soluble in ethanol and other polar organic solvents. Tyramine occurs naturally in certain foods as a product of amino acid decarboxylation.
