Theic-Tris (2-Hydroxyethyl) Isocyanurate

Tris(2-hydroxyethyl) isocyanurate (THEIC) is a trihydroxy-functional heterocyclic compound derived from isocyanuric acid and ethylene oxide. It typically appears as a white to off-white crystalline powder or granule and is stable under normal storage conditions. THEIC is sparingly soluble in water but readily soluble in many organic solvents. Its multifunctional hydroxyl groups make it highly reactive toward polycondensation and crosslinking reactions. In industry, THEIC is primarily used as a crosslinking agent and intermediate in the production of flame-retardant polyester resins, powder coatings, laminates, and high-performance insulating materials for electrical applications due to its excellent thermal stability and dielectric properties.
