Tert-Butyl peroxy-3,5,5-trimethylhexanoate
Industrial Application
Tert-Butyl peroxy-3,5,5-trimethylhexanoate is widely used as a radical initiator in the polymerization of styrene, acrylates, and other monomers, as well as a cross-linking agent in polyethylene and elastomers, enhancing material strength and durability. It is also employed in the curing of unsaturated polyester resins and as a controlled initiator in specialty polymer manufacturing.
Physical Properties
Tert-Butyl peroxy-3,5,5-trimethylhexanoate is an organic peroxide commonly supplied as a clear, colorless to pale yellow liquid. It has a mild, ester-like odor and is insoluble in water but soluble in most organic solvents.
