Sunflower Oil
Industrial Applications
Sunflower Oil is a natural vegetable oil rich in essential fatty acids, particularly linoleic and oleic acids, making it highly valued in cosmetic and personal care applications. In the cosmetics industry, it is widely used as an emollient, carrier oil, and skin-conditioning agent in creams, lotions, serums, soaps, and hair care products. Its mild nature and high vitamin E content make it suitable for sensitive skin formulations, baby care products, and natural or clean beauty applications. Additionally, Sunflower Oil can be used in the food industry as a refined edible oil for cooking, frying, and salad dressings. Organic, kosher, and halal grades support specialty dietary and religiously compliant products, while cosmetic and personal care grades ensure versatility across creams, lotions, hair treatments, and baby care formulations.
Physical Properties
Sunflower Oil is a clear to pale yellow oily liquid with a mild, neutral odor. It is insoluble in water but soluble in most organic solvents. The oil has a lightweight texture, good oxidative stability depending on fatty acid composition, and excellent spreadability on the skin. Sunflower Oil remains liquid at room temperature and is chemically stable under normal storage conditions, though prolonged exposure to heat, light, or air may lead to oxidation.
