Silver Nitrate
Industrial Applications
Silver Nitrate is a versatile inorganic compound widely used across multiple industries. In photography, it serves as a precursor for silver-based photographic materials and film emulsions. It is employed in chemical synthesis as a source of silver ions for the preparation of other silver compounds. Silver Nitrate is also used in the medical field as a cauterizing agent and antiseptic, and in analytical chemistry for the detection of halides and as a reagent in titrations. Additionally, it has applications in electronics for silver plating and in mirror manufacturing.
Physical Properties
Silver Nitrate is a colorless or white crystalline solid that is highly soluble in water and slightly soluble in alcohol. It is odorless and hygroscopic, meaning it can absorb moisture from the air. Silver Nitrate decomposes upon exposure to light, producing metallic silver and nitrogen oxides, and is sensitive to reducing agents. It has a melting point of approximately 212°C and is stable under dry, dark storage conditions.
Our silver nitrate is manufactured with 99.99% silver making it some of the highest quality silver nitrate you can obtain in the market today. It surpasses ACS grade and also meets USP specs in addition to Photo Grade.
