Industrial Applications
Palmityl Dimethyl Amine is primarily used as a cationic surfactant intermediate, corrosion inhibitor, antistatic agent, emulsifier, and flotation aid in mineral processing. It is also employed in textile softening agents, personal care formulations, and lubricant additives, especially where hydrophobic and film-forming properties are needed.
Physical Properties
Palmityl Dimethyl Amine is a long-chain tertiary amine derived from palmitic acid (hexadecanoic acid). It typically appears as a waxy solid or pale yellow, viscous liquid at room temperature with a faint amine-like odor. It has low solubility in water but is soluble in many organic solvents.
