N-Lauryl-1,3-Diamino Propane
Industrial Applications
N-Lauryl-1,3-Diaminopropane is used as a corrosion inhibitor, biocide booster, and surfactant in water treatment systems. Its long C12 hydrophobic tail and diamine functionality allow it to adsorb strongly onto metal surfaces and disrupt microbial membranes, forming a protective hydrophobic film that prevents corrosion and fouling in boilers and cooling systems.
Physical Properties
N-Lauryl-1,3-Diaminopropane is a long-chain aliphatic diamine with two amine groups connected via a propane spacer. It typically appears as a pale yellow to amber viscous liquid or soft solid at room temperature with a characteristic amine odor. It is sparingly soluble in water but soluble in alcohols and other organic solvents.
