Isopropyl Alcohol
Industrial Applications
Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) is widely used across industrial, pharmaceutical, and household applications due to its solvency, fast evaporation rate, and antimicrobial properties. It serves as a solvent for coatings, inks, adhesives, and cleaning formulations. Isopropyl Alcohol is also a key component in antiseptics, disinfectants, hand sanitizers, and surface cleaners. Additionally, it is used in laboratories and chemical manufacturing as a reagent, intermediate, and solvent for various organic and inorganic compounds.
Physical Properties
Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) is a colorless, flammable liquid with a strong, characteristic odor. It is fully miscible with water and many organic solvents. Isopropyl Alcohol has a moderate boiling point, low viscosity, and evaporates quickly, making it ideal for rapid-drying applications. Chemically, it is stable under normal conditions, but highly flammable, and must be stored and handled with care.
