Di(tert-butyl) Peroxide
Industrial Application
Di(tert-butyl) Peroxide is primarily used as a radical initiator for polymerization processes, such as in the production of polyethylene, polystyrene, and other polymers, as well as a cross-linking agent for elastomers and plastics. Its ability to generate free radicals at elevated temperatures also makes it useful in organic synthesis and modification of industrial resins.
Physical Properties
Di(tert-butyl) Peroxide is an organic peroxide appearing as a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a characteristic odor.
