Ammonium Peroxodisulfate
Industrial Application
Ammonium Peroxodisulfate is widely used as a polymerization initiator for acrylics, vinyl acetate, styrene, and other monomers, as well as in etching and cleaning of printed circuit boards, desizing and bleaching in textiles, and as a soil and wastewater treatment chemical. Its strong oxidative power also makes it useful in cosmetic formulations (as a hair bleach component) and in certain analytical chemistry applications.
Physical Properties
Ammonium Peroxodisulfate is a strong oxidizing agent, and tt appears as a white crystalline salt that is odorless, stable at room temperature, and highly soluble in water.
