1,3-/1,4-Di(2-tert-butylperoxyisopropyl) Benzene
1,3-/1,4-Di(2-tert-butylperoxyisopropyl) Benzene is an organic peroxide mixture used primarily as a high-efficiency radical initiator and crosslinking agent in polymer and rubber processing. It has limited water solubility but is soluble in organic solvents, and is stable under controlled storage but decomposes exothermically at elevated temperatures to release free radicals. With a high active oxygen content, it is widely used in the vulcanization of elastomers, curing of thermoset resins, and controlled degradation of polypropylene, improving processability and material performance. Its balance of thermal stability and radical reactivity makes it valuable for applications requiring controlled polymer modification.
