Titanium Dioxide is widely used as a pigment and additive across multiple industries. In the food industry, it enhances whiteness and opacity in dairy products, baked goods, and frostings, while also protecting ingredients from light-induced degradation. In personal care, it is a key component in sunscreens, cosmetics, and toothpastes, acting as a physical UV filter, whitening agent, and opacifier. Titanium Dioxide is used as a photocatalytic coating on self-cleaning glass, and it is also used as opacifier in some ceramic glazes and enamels on glass. Additionally, its high brightness and durability make it essential in paints, coatings, plastics, and paper. Titanium Dioxide is a crucial material in electronics primarily due to its high dielectric constant, optical transparency, and semiconducting properties. It is heavily utilized as a base material for electronic ceramics (like barium titanate) used in capacitors and piezoelectric elements, as well as in thin-film transistors and memristors.

Titanium Dioxide is a naturally occurring oxide of titanium, appearing as a white, crystalline powder. It is an n-type semiconductor with a wide bandgap. It possesses a high refractive index, excellent opacity, and strong light-scattering properties.
