Stearyl Amine
Industrial Applications
In water treatment, Stearyl Amine is used primarily as a cationic surfactant and corrosion inhibitor. It adsorbs onto metal surfaces, forming a hydrophobic film that protects against acid attack and oxidation in boiler systems, cooling towers, and closed-loop water systems. Its strong surface activity also makes it effective as a flotation collector and dispersant in sludge conditioning.
Physical Properties
Stearyl Amine is a long-chain primary aliphatic amine, typically appearing as a white to pale yellow waxy solid or flakes at room temperature, with a faint ammonia-like odor. It is insoluble in water but soluble in alcohols, hydrocarbons, and other organic solvents.
