Sodium Bromate
Industrial Applications
Sodium Bromate is a powerful inorganic oxidizing agent widely used across chemical manufacturing, specialty synthesis, and industrial processes. It is commonly employed in the production of hair-perm neutralizers, textile dyeing and printing, and certain specialty chemicals where controlled oxidation is required. Sodium Bromate also plays a role in gold refining and laboratory analytical chemistry as an oxidant in titrations. Due to its strong oxidative properties, it is used only in tightly controlled formulations and industrial settings.
Physical Properties
Sodium Bromate is an odorless, white crystalline solid that is highly soluble in water. As a strong oxidant, it reacts readily with reducing agents and must be stored away from organic materials and combustible substances. It remains stable under normal temperatures and pressures but can decompose at elevated temperatures, releasing oxygen. Its crystalline form and high solubility make it easy to handle in industrial formulations requiring precise dosing.
