Soya Dimethyl Amine
Industrial Applications
Soya Dimethyl Amine is widely used as an intermediate in the production of quaternary ammonium compounds for fabric softeners, antistatic agents, and hair conditioners. It also finds use in emulsifiers, corrosion inhibitors, and as a flotation collector in mining. Its surface-active properties make it valuable in formulations requiring both hydrophobic and cationic characteristics.
Physical Properties
Soya Dimethyl Amine is a tertiary amine derived from hydrogenated soybean oil fatty acids, primarily consisting of C16-C18 alkyl chains with a mixture of saturated and unsaturated components. It typically appears as a yellow to light brown waxy solid or pasty mass at room temperature, with a faint amine-like odor. It is insoluble in water but soluble in most organic solvents.
