Hydroquinone Hydroxy Ethyl Ether
Industrial Applications
Hydroquinone Hydroxy Ethyl Ether (HQEE) is widely used as a chain extender in the production of high-performance polyurethanes and thermoplastic elastomers, where it imparts excellent mechanical strength, abrasion resistance, and hydrolysis stability. It is also used as an intermediate in specialty chemical synthesis and in polymer formulations requiring enhanced flexibility and toughness.
Physical Properties
Hydroquinone Hydroxy Ethyl Ether (HQEE) is an aromatic diol consisting of a hydroquinone core substituted with a hydroxyethyl group. It typically appears as a white to off-white crystalline solid, has low volatility, and good thermal stability. HQEE is sparingly soluble in water but soluble in alcohols, esters, and other polar organic solvents.
