Undistilled Fatty Acid
Undistilled Fatty Acid is a mixture of naturally derived fatty acids obtained from animal fats or vegetable oils that have not undergone fractional distillation to separate individual components. It typically appears as a yellow to brown viscous liquid or semi-solid at room temperature, with a characteristic fatty odor and variable composition including saturated and unsaturated acids (commonly C12–C18). It is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents such as alcohols and hydrocarbons. Industrially, undistilled fatty acid is widely used as a raw material for the manufacture of soaps, detergents, lubricants, emulsifiers, and surfactants. It also serves as an intermediate in the production of metal soaps, coatings, and rubber chemicals.
