Sorbitan Monolaurate

Sorbitan Monolaurate is a nonionic surfactant and emulsifier derived from the esterification of sorbitol with lauric acid. It typically appears as a pale yellow to amber, viscous, oily liquid or soft wax with a mild odor and is insoluble in water but dispersible in warm water. In industry, sorbitan monolaurate is widely used in food, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals as an emulsifier, stabilizer, and dispersing agent; in lubricants and coatings for its wetting properties; and in agriculture for pesticide formulations.
