p-Toluidine

p-Toluidine is an aromatic amine consisting of a methyl group attached to the para position of aniline. It appears as a pale yellow to amber liquid or crystalline solid with a characteristic amine odor. It is moderately soluble in water and highly soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether. In industry, p-toluidine is primarily used as an intermediate in the production of dyes, pigments, rubber chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and agrochemicals. It is also employed in the synthesis of antioxidants and corrosion inhibitors.
