Fatty Acid Ethoxylates
Fatty Acid Ethoxylates are nonionic surfactants produced by the ethoxylation of natural or synthetic fatty acids, resulting in molecules with both hydrophobic (fatty acid) and hydrophilic (polyoxyethylene) segments. They typically appear as clear to pale yellow liquids or waxy solids depending on chain length and degree of ethoxylation, with good solubility in water and many organic solvents. These compounds have low to moderate foaming tendencies, excellent wetting and emulsifying properties, and are stable across a wide pH range. In industry, fatty acid ethoxylates are widely used as emulsifiers, detergents, dispersing agents, and lubricants in applications such as textile processing, metalworking, agrochemicals, paints and coatings, and cleaning formulations.
