Industrial Applications
HEDP 60% is widely used in water treatment as a chelating agent and as a scale and corrosion inhibitor. It helps prevent the deposition of calcium and magnesium salts in boilers, cooling towers, and other industrial water systems. Additionally, HEDP 60% serves as a stabilizer for bleach in wastewater disinfection and is employed in oilfield water injection systems to control scale formation and maintain system integrity.
Physical Properties
HEDP 60% is an aqueous solution of 1-hydroxyethylidene-1,1-diphosphonic acid with approximately 60% active content. It is highly soluble in water, slightly acidic in nature, and stable under normal storage conditions. Its viscous, clear to slightly yellow liquid form allows for easy handling and dosing in water treatment applications.
