2-Allylphenol
2-Allylphenol is an aromatic compound consisting of a phenolic ring substituted with an allyl group in the ortho position. It typically appears as a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a phenolic odor, and is slightly soluble in water but readily soluble in organic solvents. Due to its phenolic hydroxyl group and reactive allyl side chain, 2-allylphenol is used in the synthesis of resins, fragrances, antioxidants, and polymer additives, as well as an intermediate in pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals.
