Glycol Ether EB
Industrial Applications
Glycol Ether EB is a versatile solvent used across industrial and domestic applications. It functions as a coalescing agent, coupling solvent, and surfactant in coatings, inks, cleaners, and metalworking fluids. Its high solvency for a wide variety of resins, oils, and polymers makes it ideal for paints, varnishes, and cleaning formulations. Glycol Ether EB is also used in the manufacturing of adhesives, textiles, and chemical intermediates due to its stability and moderate evaporation rate.
Physical Properties
Glycol Ether EB is a colorless liquid with a sweet, ether-like odor. It is moderately soluble in water and highly soluble in most organic solvents. It has a relatively high boiling point, low volatility, and good chemical stability under standard conditions. As a butyl ether of ethylene glycol, it exhibits excellent solvency for both polar and non-polar compounds, making it effective in diverse industrial applications.
