Glycol Ether DPnB
Industrial Applications
Glycol Ether DPnB is commonly used as a solvent and coalescing agent in waterborne latex paints, coatings, inks, and cleaning formulations. Its excellent coupling properties and solvency for coating resins improve film formation, leveling, and surface smoothness. It is particularly valued in waterborne systems for enhancing coalescence, reducing surface defects, and ensuring uniform drying. Glycol Ether DPnB is also used in adhesives and specialty chemical applications where controlled evaporation is important.
Physical Properties
Glycol Ether DPnB is a clear, colorless liquid with a mild ether-like odor. It exhibits low water solubility and low volatility, making it slow to evaporate. It is chemically stable, has low toxicity, and provides strong solvency for both polar and nonpolar resins. Its low evaporation rate and good surface wetting characteristics make it particularly suitable for industrial and waterborne coating applications.
