Industrial Applications
Octyl Alcohol is a fatty alcohol widely used as an intermediate in the synthesis of esters for perfumes, flavorings, and cosmetic formulations. It is incorporated in personal care products such as lotions, creams, and hair care products to provide emollient and texture-enhancing properties. Industrially, it is also used in the production of lubricants, surfactants, and specialty chemicals, as well as in pharmaceutical applications for evaluating product formulations.
Physical Properties
Octyl Alcohol is a colorless liquid with a pungent odor. It is insoluble in water but soluble in most organic solvents. The compound is chemically stable under normal conditions and exhibits low volatility.
