Copper Cyanide
Industrial Applications
Copper Cyanide is primarily used in the electroplating industry to deposit copper coatings that provide excellent conductivity and corrosion resistance. Beyond electroplating, it also serves as a catalyst and reagent in organic synthesis, particularly in the preparation of nitriles and other fine chemicals.
Physical Properties
Copper Cyanide appears as a pale green to white solid that is insoluble in water. However, it reacts with cyanide ions to form soluble complex ions, a property that underpins its utility in plating baths and chemical synthesis processes.
