Tallow Diamine

Oil and Gas

Tallow Diamine is a fatty aliphatic diamine derived from tallow with two amine functional groups. It typically appears as a soft solid at room temperature, with a mild amine odor. Tallow Diamine is insoluble in water but soluble in alcohols and organic solvents, and exhibits excellent surface activity and strong adhesion to metal surfaces. In the oil and gas industry, it is widely used as a corrosion inhibitor, emulsifier, and as an additive in drilling fluids, production chemicals, and pipeline treatment. Its dual amine structure enables it to form a hydrophobic, protective film on metal surfaces, reducing corrosion, stabilizing emulsions, and improving the dispersion of solids in downhole and production systems.
