Polysorbate
HI&I
Polysorbates are a group of nonionic surfactants formed by the ethoxylation of sorbitan esters with fatty acids, typically appearing as viscous, oily liquids that are yellow to amber in color and soluble in water and many polar solvents. Their amphiphilic structure makes them excellent emulsifiers, solubilizers, and dispersing agents. In HI&I cleaning, polysorbates are used in surface cleaners, degreasers, fabric softeners, and air care products to stabilize oil-in-water formulations, enhance wetting, and improve ingredient compatibility. Their mild nature also makes them suitable for use in less aggressive cleaning products.
Personal Care
Polysorbates are a class of emulsifiers and surfactants commonly found in cosmetics, hair products, pharmaceuticals, and food products. They are typically oils that help to solubilize other oils into the product. These products can act as wetting agents, surfactants, and stabilizers. They are synthesized from stearic acid, sorbitol, and ethylene oxide.
