Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil (Almond or Sweet Almond) is a refined natural nut oil widely used in the cosmetics, personal care, and pharmaceutical industries. It serves as an emollient, carrier oil, and moisturizer in creams, lotions, hair oils, massage oils, and lip care products. Additionally, it is incorporated into soaps, body oils, and natural skincare formulations due to its gentle, nourishing properties. Refined almond oil is also a versatile option for commercial food applications. Its mild, nutty flavor is used in baked goods and dressings, and its high smoke point makes refined almond oil useful for frying.
Physical Properties
Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil is a pale yellow to light amber liquid with a mild, nutty aroma. It is hydrophobic, insoluble in water, and miscible with other oils and lipophilic substances. It solidifies at about -18°C. The oil is rich in triglycerides containing oleic and linoleic fatty acid residues, exhibits excellent emollient properties, and has good oxidative stability, making it suitable for topical applications and cosmetic formulations.
