Industrial Applications
Ammonium Bromide is widely used in photographic processes for preparing photosensitive emulsions. It is also employed as a flame retardant, in analytical chemistry, and as a source of bromide ions for various chemical reactions. Additionally, it has applications in pharmaceutical synthesis and veterinary medicine.
Physical Properties
Ammonium Bromide is a white crystalline solid that is highly soluble in water and slightly soluble in alcohol. It is stable under normal conditions but can release bromide ions when dissolved. The compound has moderate density and is hygroscopic, requiring storage in a dry environment to maintain its stability.
