Decanamide
Decanamide is a fatty acid amide derived from decanoic acid (capric acid). It typically appears as a white to off-white crystalline solid or wax and is insoluble in water but soluble in alcohols, chloroform, and other organic solvents. Decanamide is valued in industry for its lubricating, thickening, and anti-static properties, and is commonly used as a slip agent and anti-block additive in plastics, as well as a processing aid in rubber manufacturing. It is also utilized in surfactant formulations, cosmetics, and personal care products as a conditioning or emulsifying agent due to its hydrophobic tail and amide functionality.
