Tricalcium Phosphate
Industrial Applications
Tricalcium Phosphate is widely used across food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and industrial applications. In the food industry, it functions as an anti-caking agent, acidity regulator, and calcium supplement in powdered foods, beverages, and nutritional products. In pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals, Tricalcium Phosphate is used as a calcium source in tablets and capsules, as well as an excipient and diluent in solid dosage formulations. In personal care and cosmetics, it is incorporated into toothpaste, oral care products, and cosmetic powders as an abrasive, opacifying agent, and bulking agent. Industrially, Tricalcium Phosphate is used in ceramics, fertilizers, animal feed, and as a raw material in the production of phosphates and specialty chemicals.
Physical Properties
Tricalcium Phosphate is a white, odorless, crystalline or amorphous powder. It is insoluble in water but soluble in dilute acids. The compound is chemically stable under normal conditions and has low hygroscopicity, making it suitable for dry formulations. Tricalcium Phosphate exhibits good thermal stability and low reactivity, allowing it to be safely handled and incorporated into food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and industrial products.
