Tallow Diamine
Industrial Applications
In the oil and gas industry, Tallow Diamine is widely used as a corrosion inhibitor, emulsifier, and as an additive in drilling fluids, production chemicals, and pipeline treatment. Its dual amine structure enables it to form a hydrophobic, protective film on metal surfaces, reducing corrosion, stabilizing emulsions, and improving the dispersion of solids in downhole and production systems. It is often used as a non-ionic surfactant as well.
Physical Properties
Tallow Diamine is a fatty aliphatic diamine derived from tallow with two amine functional groups. It typically appears as a soft solid at room temperature, with a mild amine odor. Tallow Diamine is insoluble in water but soluble in alcohols and organic solvents, and exhibits excellent surface activity and strong adhesion to metal surfaces. Its fatty aliphatic backbone and dual amine functionality provide excellent surface activity and strong adhesion to metal surfaces.
