Tallow Amine
Water Treatment
Tallow Amine is a mixture of primary fatty amines derived from the hydrogenation of tallow fatty acids, typically appearing as a pale yellow to amber viscous liquid with a mild amine odor. It is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents and oils. In water treatment, tallow amine is primarily used as a cationic surfactant and corrosion inhibitor, helping to prevent the corrosion of metal surfaces in cooling towers, boilers, and pipelines by forming a protective film. It also functions as a flocculant and antifoaming agent, improving sludge settling and reducing foam formation during wastewater treatment processes.
