Castor Oil

Industrial Applications

Castor Oil is a versatile natural oil obtained from the seeds of Ricinus communis. It is widely used in personal care, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and the food industry. In manufacturing, it functions as a lubricant, dispersing agent, and thickener in paints, coatings, plastics, and textiles. Castor Oil is also used in the production of biodiesel, adhesives, and synthetic resins. Kosher and halal grades are processed and certified to meet specific dietary and regulatory requirements, making them suitable for use in compliant food and personal care formulations.

Physical Properties

Castor Oil is a pale yellow to colorless viscous liquid with a mild, characteristic odor. It is highly hydrophobic, insoluble in water, and miscible with many organic solvents. Rich in ricinoleic acid, it exhibits excellent emollient and humectant properties, making it ideal for moisturizing and conditioning formulations. The oil is chemically stable under normal storage conditions but can oxidize when exposed to heat or light over extended periods.
