Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil (Almond or Sweet Almond) is a refined natural nut oil widely used in the cosmetics, personal care, and pharmaceutical industries. It serves as an emollient, carrier oil, and moisturizer in creams, lotions, hair oils, massage oils, and lip care products. Additionally, it is incorporated into soaps, body oils, and natural skincare formulations due to its gentle, nourishing properties. Kosher and halal grades are processed and certified to meet specific dietary and regulatory requirements, making them suitable for use in compliant food and personal care formulations. Refined or unrefined almond oil is also a versitile option for commercial food applications that are more health conscious due to it's nutritional makeup and 0% cholesterol. In it's refind form it adds a unique flavor and has high smoke point that makes it useful for frying applications.
Physical Properties
Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil is a pale yellow to light amber liquid with a mild, nutty aroma. It is hydrophobic, insoluble in water, and miscible with other oils and lipophilic substances. It solidifies at about -18⁰C. The oil is rich in fatty acids, exhibits excellent emollient properties, and has good oxidative stability, making it suitable for topical applications and cosmetic formulations.
