Oxybenzone is an organic ultraviolet (UV) filter used to absorb harmful UV radiation. It is commonly incorporated into sunscreens, moisturizers, lip balms, foundations, and other cosmetic products to protect skin from UV damage.
Physical Properties
Oxybenzone typically appears as a pale yellow to light orange crystalline solid. It is sparingly soluble in water but soluble in alcohols, oils, and other organic solvents, making it suitable for use in a variety of personal care and cosmetic formulations.
