Industrial Applications
Hydrofluoric Acid is widely used in glass etching, metal cleaning, and the production of fluorine-containing chemicals such as refrigerants, fluoropolymers, and pharmaceuticals. It also plays a critical role in semiconductor manufacturing, where it is used to clean and etch silicon wafers, and in petroleum refining processes, particularly in alkylation units to produce high-octane fuels.

Hydrofluoric Acid is a highly corrosive, colorless aqueous solution of hydrogen fluoride (HF) in water. It is distinguished by its ability to dissolve glass and many metals, making it uniquely hazardous. The solution emits pungent, irritating fumes and requires careful handling due to its extreme reactivity and potential for severe health hazards upon contact or inhalation.
