Coco Amine 2 EO

Oil and Gas

Coco Amine 2 EO is an ethoxylated fatty amine derived from coconut oil, containing approximately two ethylene oxide (EO) units. It typically appears as a pale yellow liquid with a mild amine-like odor and is partially soluble in water and fully soluble in alcohols and organic solvents. Its structure provides both hydrophobic (C12–C18 alkyl chains) and hydrophilic (EO groups) properties, making it an effective nonionic co-surfactant with slight cationic character. In the oil and gas industry, Coco Amine 2 EO is commonly used as an emulsifier, corrosion inhibitor, and wetting agent in drilling fluids, production chemicals, and asphaltene dispersants. Its amphiphilic nature enables strong adhesion to metal surfaces and compatibility with both oil- and water-based systems, enhancing emulsion stability and reducing corrosion.
